Widespread Panic headlined the annual Trondossa Music Festival in North Charleston, South Carolina. MFWSP had headlining sets both nights in addition to the Marcus King Band, Umphrey’s McGee and other bands.

On the first evening, WSP jammed hard on the Howlin’ Wolf tune “Smokestack Lightning.” Towards the back half of the 18-minute jam, Herring and the band tucked in a tasty “The Other One” jam as well.

Watch the White Stripes’ Electrifying Cover of Dolly Parton’s Jolene

Watch and listen to Jack & Meg White of the White Stripes transform this Dolly Parton country classic into a raw, rock anthem. This footage is from the Under the Blackpool Lights DVD which was from a pair of shows on January 27 & 28, 2004 in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens in the seaside resort of Blackpool.

Among the many covers The White Stripes perform on the DVD, this is my favorite. Enjoy!
