“The Allman Brothers at Fillmore East” is considered by many to be the best live rock album of all time. The two ABB shows at the Fillmore in March of 71 that comprise the album showcase the band in peak form and gave those who hadn’t been to an Allman’s show a taste of what they had been missing.
One of the breakout performances on the album is a cover of T-bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” T-Bone Walker was an influence on the Allman Brothers Band and countless other blues and rock acts of the second half of the 20th century.
Born on this day in 1910, T-Bone would have been 106 today.
