The next release from the Jerry Garcia Band vault will be from JGB’s ’89 fall tour. On September 16, 1989 Garcia landed at the Poplar Creek Music Theatre, just outside of Chicago.
In addition to John Kahn, David Kemper, Melvin Seals, Gloria Jones, and Jacklyn LaBranch, Jerry Garcia had one very special guest join in for the show—the Big Man, Clarence Clemons from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band.
Clemons lends his timeless saxophone playing to two sets of Jerry Garcia Band originals and covers including The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence,” The Band’s “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” and Garcia’s own “They Love Each Other.” The Garcia Family Provisions chose a gem for the GarciaLive’s 13th release.
