XL Center

Update: Thanks to Keith Antaya for the recording!

Dead and Company’s show in Hartford didn’t start under the best of circumstances. There was a bomb threat to the XL Center where Dead and Company was scheduled to continue their 2017 fall tour last night. The show went on amid heightened security, thankfully without any fireworks other than those provided by Mayer, Weir, and the rest of Dead and Co.

D&C kicked off the show with the tour debut of “Iko Iko” and kept the party going with “Shakedown Street > They Love Each Other.” A first set “Friend of the Devil” featured beautiful work from Jeff Chimenti on keys.

The second set featured one of D&C’s signature Dead tunes, “Eyes of the World.” Oteil took the lead on a heart-wrenchingly beautiful “China Doll” and finished the evening with Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.”
