Ann Wilson, one of the two lead sisters in the classic rock band Heart, can sing rock songs like nobodies business. While 66 years old is hardly old in today’s rock scene, years of belting and screeching can take a toll on a singer’s voice. Somehow Ann Wilson has weathered decades of belting out “Barracuda” with a voice that sounds as full and lively as ever.
Last night, Ann Wilson and her band stopped at The Space in Westbury, N.Y. and shared some Heart classics, as well as a ton of covers ranging from The Who to Aretha Franklin. Not just anyone can cover the Queen of Soul.
One of the covers she did last night was The Who’s legendary tune “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” She channels Roger Daltrey’s energy and howl perfectly.
Thanks to Stephen Hurtes for the great footage. Check out his channel for more songs from the performance.
