The bluegrass outfit The Travelin’ McCourys have teamed up with Jeff Austin once again for a week of Grateful Ball shows, ending last night in Vegas. This footage is from their stop at The Catalyst Atrium in Santa Cruz, CA.
The Grateful Ball is a dead-grass lover’s dream. The covers are faithful to the originals but are layered in beautiful string harmonies and interplays. In addition to Dead covers, the Travelin’ McCourys tucked in a delicious Catfish John on the menu.
The Grateful Ball will convene for a pair of shows in late April in Colorado and will add more string-power from members of Leftover Salmon and Yonder Mountain String Band.
