Watch Mikaela Davis and Southern Star’s Lush Cover of “Bird Song” at Relix Studios

Relix released another track from their studio yesterday on YouTube. The latest artist to be featured was harpist Mikaela Davis with Southern Star.

Mikaela has collaborated with Bob Weir and Wolf Bros in the past and isn’t a stranger to the Grateful Dead catalogue. Davis and Southern Star not just covered, but delivered a superb “Bird Song” cover that clocked in over 19 minutes.

Thanks to Relix for the footage!

Watch the Allman Betts Band’s Acoustic “Shinin'” in the Relix Studios

Devon Allman and Duane Betts stopped at the Relix Studios in NYC ahead of their final Allman Family Revival show at the Beacon on December 28th. Devon, Duane and a whole bunch of guests have done a pair of the Allman Family Revival Shows earlier this month already.

Watch Allman Betts Band, Brandon Niederauer and Ally Venable’s Soaring “The Thrill Is Gone” in Denver

Devon and Duane donned a pair of acoustic guitars and shared a couple of original tunes including “Shinin'” and “Long Gone.” Both tunes summon the spirit of their ancestors and sound like they could have been Allman Brothers Band songs.

Thanks to Relix for the great studio footage!

Watch Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer Shred on “Blackbird” at Relix Studios

Relix has been inviting musicians from the jam band scene over the last few weeks to their studio for intimate, stripped down performances. Yesterday, Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer and his band went live on YouTube from the Relix studios and shared three tunes.

After an original, Brandon introduced the next cover as possibly his favorite song of all time—The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” After the first verse, TAZ launched into a funky “Fire on the Mountain” jam before returning to the final verse of “Blackbird.”

Thanks to Relix for the great stream.
