Jimi Hendrix’s estate continues to release vintage recordings through their YouTube channel. The quality on these recordings is poor at best sometimes, but it’s still a recording of THE Jimi Hendrix.

The latest release comes just days before the 51 anniversary of his tragic death on September 18, 1970. In the spring of 1970, Jimi Hendrix performed at the Milwaukee Auditorium in Milwaukee, WI. Before his show closing “Voodoo Child,” Jimi treated Milwaukee to the fan favorite “Purple Haze.”

Thanks to Jimi Hendrix for the recording.
