Neil Young and Pearl Jam’s paths crossed quite a lot in the mid 90s. Not only did they share the stage on more than one occasion, but they also recorded an album together, Mirrorball in 1995.

One the the concerts they teamed up for was on 6/24/1995 at Golden Gate Park. The “NeilJam” set had tunes from the Mirrorball album and many classic Young tunes. One of the most memorable songs from the set was a monster “Down By the River” close to the end of the set. The Neil Young epic clocked in at a whopping 17 minutes of face-melting guitar solos.

Thanks to Music Vault for the recording of “Down by the River” and the set closing “Cortez the Killer.”
