On the heels of the devastating news of the Las Vegas country music festival mass shooting, we learned late yesterday that iconic rocker Tom Petty passed away at the all-too young age of 66. Tom was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest at his Malibu home early on Monday. He was taken to hospital, but could not be revived and died later that evening surrounded by friends and family.
Petty had just finished a massive tour that spanned over 50 shows in 24 states. The tour was celebrating Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker’s 40th year anniversary. Petty revealed recently that this was going to be the last massive tour as he wanted to focus on spending time with his family, specifically his granddaughter.
Tom’s final two shows were at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Thanks to Paradise Lost Paradise Found 2 for sharing the final show from September 25.
