John Kadlecik, best known for his work in Furthur and the Grateful Dead tribute band, Dark Star Orchestra has been keeping busy this year. John has toured with another Grateful Dead tribute band of sorts, Golden Gate Wingmen and his own band, aptly named the John Kadlecik Band. John’s most recent project has him out on the road, by himself.

Kadlecik’s ‘Acousti’Lectric’ solo sets include a mix of originals, Dead tunes and other covers. The show at the Red Light Cafe in Atlanta gets off to a strong start with John singing his heart out on Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece.” For the rest of the show, Kadlecik brings the same level of intensity with every song. Listen to John morph his guitar on John Lennon’s “Watching the Wheels” to sound like a keyboard.
