Trey Anastasio wielding a bizarre half guitar half dear antler? Check. Les Claypool donning the pig mast on bass? Check. Stewart Copeland punishing the drums? Check.

Oysterhead, the supergroup that has laid dormant for the last 14 years has surfaced from the depths once again. Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland’s reunion tour kicked off last night in Denver.

The 1STBANK Center, outside of Denver hosted last night’s reunion and will host a second performance tonight. After initially announcing these two dates, Oysterhead has since announced more dates and festival appearances that stretch into the summer.

Trey, Les and Stewart hasn’t seemed to have lost their connection and picked right back up from where they left off back at Bonnaroo 2006. The super-trio performed material from their album The Grand Pecking Order a couple of cover debuts including The Police’s “Voices Inside My Head” and Phish’s “46 Days.”
