During the summer of 1988, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble were nearly at the end of a massive 207 show tour that spanned 1986 to the end of 1988. SRV and Double Trouble bassist Tommy Shannon were both celebrating their sobriety and playing some of the best music of their lives.
On August 19th, 1988 SRV and Double Trouble set sails for Pier 84 in NYC. The ensuing show was a barn-burner. Who else opens a show with an instrumental that is already dialed up to a 10?
