Unless you are a health professional or other essential worker (I’m talking about you Instacart driver), chances are you haven’t had nearly as a productive quarantine in the last few weeks as Trey Anastasio had.
The lead guitarist and singer of Phish has used his time trapped in his NYC apartment writing. To date, Trey has debuted and performed 11 tracks through his YouTube channel. Most are fragments or ideas of songs, while others are fleshed out.
Trey’s latest jam is a bluesy, groove titled “My World is My Home” that features a comical take on his experience in his home. Anastasio jokes on the song “One time I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge. Now it’s a big thrill to walk to the fridge.”
In the video, Trey has abandoned the guitar for an ensemble of kitchen percussion instruments including four wine glasses, a toaster and a spoon.
Thanks to Trey Anastasio for providing some light in these otherwise dark times.
