Watch this truly once in a lifetime performance with two kings, a prince and a godfather. James Brown, the Godfather of Soul and BB King, the King of the Blues performed a show back in 1985 that I would have given my left arm to be at. The most notable moment out of tons of memorable moments in the concert is when James Brown spots Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, in the crowd and insists he comes up on stage. Michael jumps on stage, and throws down one of his legendary moonwalks before JB takes over and gets the crowd jumping. According to multiple sources, Prince also made an appearance at the concert during “It’s a Man’s World,” but he’s not visible in the footage.
IF you want to fast forward to the Michael Jackson footage, go to 40:43. But then again, why would you want to miss out on 40 minutes of legendary music?
The concert was invite only and took place back in 1983. There was a DVD release of select songs from the evening titled James Brown and B.B. King: One Special Night that comes with some extra tunes not seen in the YouTube clip above.
