Marc Brownstein’s Star Kitchen, a super group features Danny Mayer (Eric Krasno Band), Marlon Lewis (Lauryn Hill, John Legend) and Rob Marscher (Matisyahu, Addison Groove Project). Brownstein, better known as Brownie is the bassists for the Disco Biscuits when he’s not jamming with Star Kitchen.
Star Kitchen was joined by a slew of guests including Eric Krasno on guitar, the Snarky Puppy horns (saxophonist Chris Bullock and trumpeter Mike “Maz” Maher) and James Casey on the sax.
Star Kitchen’s covers varied from the Wu-Tang Clan to Jimi Hendrix. But the best dish of the night the Kitchen was serving was classic soul with covers like Stevie Wonder’s “Living for the City” and James Brown’s “Soul Power.”
