While Joe Russo’s Almost Dead was down south performing in Atlanta, Dave Dreiwitz and Ween were further up the coast embarking on their summer tour. On Sunday they made their way to Baltimore for a marathon show at the Pier Six Pavilion.
Among the 25 song set, was a spot on cover of David Bowie’s classic “Let’s Dance.” Gene Ween does Bowie’s vocals justice while Dean Ween and Dreiwitz lay down the funky backing track. It was totally unexpected and somehow works—really well.
While some, alright, most of Ween’s material can sound strange, Deaner’s searing guitar work on the songs makes them irresistible.
