Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD) kicked off their two-night stint at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre this past weekend. JRAD has a reputation for breathing new life into Grateful Dead’s music, and this night was no exception.
The second set featured one of the many highlights of the run. As the opening chords of “I Know You Rider” echoed off the red rocks, the crowd was in for a surprise. Katie Jacoby, known for her electrifying violin solos, joined the band on stage, adding a whole new layer to the Dead tune. The magic didn’t stop there. Jacoby stayed on for the next track, a rendition of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley,” providing an unforgettable solo that left the audience in awe.
