While all the attention is focused on LOCKN’ on the east coast, Gov’t Mule took their Smokin’ Mule tour out west to play at the legendary Red Rocks for a special gig with .moe.
Warren notched another amazing Red Rocks performance; the second one this month.
Instant Classic: Watch Warren Haynes’ Play “Loser” and More With Jerry Garcia’s Guitar at Red Rocks
After a great set that included their new-ish Beatles cover “And Your Bird Can Sing,” Mule busted out a brooding take on the Pink Floyd classics “One of these Days” and “Fearless.”
For the encore, as Mule has done every stop this tour, Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke came out for a classic cover. This time, .moe came out to join in for The Bands’ “I Shall Be Released.” The mandolin, guitar solos, beautiful melodies—easily on of my all-time favorite covers Mule does.
Thanks to Got Mule? and Jeremiah Rogers for the great footage!
Thanks to Heath Robson for the photo.
