The summer of Bob continued in Berkeley last night. Dave Matthews Band played their second night at the Greek Theater in as many nights and treated those in attendance to a very special guest collaboration with Bob Weir.
Bobby came out about halfway through DMB’s set and jammed with them on an extended take on the Daniel Lanois classic “The Maker.” Dave has been playing “The Maker” at shows for years. While Jerry Garcia Band played “The Maker” frequently, this is thought to be Bob’s first crack at the tune.
Bob busts out the capo and slide for a little guitar work in the middle of the extended jam, but quickly abandons the capo.
Here is some great footage, but so-so sound from the pit courtesy of Mitch Wight. The footage at the top of the post is from Daryl Primorac and is further away, but features better sound.
