Watch the Grateful Dead’s First Set of Legendary ’78 NYE Show Remastered

YouTuber and video engineer extraordinaire Christopher Hazard delivered a New Year’s Eve treat in time for the new year—an HD remaster of the Dead’s 1978 New Year’s Eve show at the Winterland.

The Blues Brothers and NRPS opened for the Dead. Before the Dead’s three sets, promoter Bill Graham flies above the crowd in a giant joint. The Dead then get the party started with a rocking “Sugar Magnolia.”

Dead and Company returned to YouTube last night with another One More Saturday Night stream. Last nights selection comes from Summer tour 2018 in NYC.

Dead and Company rolled into Queens and played at Citi field on 6/16/2018. Johnny Lightning doesn’t waste time and has a beautiful solo during “Mississippi Half-Step” which is in the second slot of the first set. The most notable jam from the show comes in the second set with the debut of the elusive Grateful Dead classic “The Eleven.”

Watch Dead and Company’s Show at Dodger Stadium in 2018 – 7/7/2018 Video

While Light From LOCKN’ was in full swing this past weekend, Dead and Company continued their One More Saturday Night YouTube series. Last Saturday’s stream brought us back to Summer tour 2018 in Los Angeles.

On July 7th, Dead and Company played at the legendary Dodger Stadium, one of four baseball stadiums they have played at over the years. Dead & Co’s Dodger Stadium stop was one of their better shows of the 2018 tour and included a monster second set that featured “Scar > Fire,” John Mayer’s favorite “Althea” and “Eyes of the World.”

Watch Dead and Company’s Grand Slam Tour Finale at Wrigley Field – 7/1/2017 Video

Dead and Company returned to YouTube last night with another installment of One More Saturday Night. Last night’s selection comes from summer tour 2017.

By 2017, Dead and Company had a few tours under their belt and truly hit their stride. Summer tour came a little early in 2017 and ended with a pair of shows at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Dead & Co streamed the second Wrigley show and tour finale last night.

Bobby, Johnny and the boys pitched a gem for the final show of the tour. The setlist was stacked including a smoking “Cold Rain and Snow,” Dark Star,” “Althea,” and “Scar > Fire.”
