Kofi Burbridge, multi-instrumentalist for the Tedeschi Trucks Band died at the incredibly young age of 57 yesterday. Kofi, who had been dealing with complications from his 2017 heart surgery, was on medical leave from the band this year. Keyboardist Gabe Dixon who filled in for Kofi in 2017, has joined TTB for the rest of the year.
Preceding this heartbreaking news, Tedeschi Trucks Band was rolling on a high. The band just released their brand new album Signs, were announced as headliners at LOCKN and were about to embark on their first tour of 2019.
With the news of Kofi heaving on their minds, TTB opened their 2019 tour with a surprise. The band played their new album Signs almost in it’s entirety, as it appears on the album to open the show. Even though it was their first time performing many of the songs, TTB sound like they have been playing these songs for years.
