Watch Dark Star Orchestra’s Killer Show at All Good Festival in 2008

Dark Star Orchestra has reached back into their archive to share an amazing festival show from back in 2010. On July 12th, 2010 DSO kept the All Good festival party going with nearly two hours of good ol’ Grateful Dead at 2 AM. DSO has been releasing shows from their archive on YouTube as a way to raise much needed funds to support their hard-working and “dead”icated crew. If you enjoy the stream, throw them a few bucks here.

The set was elective as opposed to a recreation of an old Dead show. This gave DSO a few liberties to add in a a couple of more traditional JGB songs into the setlist.

The We Will Get By Streaming Tour travels to night two of the Dead’s two night run at the Family Dog at the Great Highway in San Francisco, CA in the first week of August, 1969.

The Dead delivered another solid performance and went the distance on tunes like “High Time,” “The Other One” and “Dark Star.” What’s interesting about this show is that Jerry and the gang were joined by Charles Lloyd (sax) and David LaFlamme (violin.)

The Dead’s next gig would be there infamous Woodstock set.

Watch Trey Anastasio Join Phil Lesh For Epic Show at Warfield – 4/16/1999 Video

Phil Lesh and his ever changing cast of Friends has been the one constant since Jerry Garcia passed in 1995. Regardless of the line-up, we can count of Phil and Friends to deliver a pair of outstanding Dead sets with some classic rock covers.

In 1999, Phish frontman Trey Anastasio hooked up with Phil for three nights at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco. These three nights culminated in one of the best Phish and Dead crossover moments in history. In addition to Trey Anastasio, the rest of the Friends line-up included Steve Kimock on guitar, Phish member Page McConnell on keyboards, John Molo on drums and Donna Jean Godchaux on vocals for a handful of tunes.

The second night of the run started off with a blazing “Help on the Way > Slipknot > Franklin’s Tower” and never looked back. Trey and Steve Kimock’s guitar chemistry is undeniable.

Phil Lesh has joined forces for jam band all-stars moe. for the third time in the last couple of years. Last year Phil, Bobby and moe. teamed up on the last day of LOCKN’ and in May Phil and moe. teamed up at Summer Camp. Over the last weekend, moe. traveled to the Bay Area and teamed up with Phil and the Terrapin Family band for a four-show run.

The last show of the run was outside in the TrX Backyard and started early in the afternoon before Phil and the Terrapin Family Band played into the late afternoon and evening.

Thanks to nowiknowuryder we have some great footage of the final backyard show. In addition to a smokin’ “Deal,” Moe Phil also covered The Band’s “The Weight.”

Listen to Phil Lesh and a Lot of Friends Jam Summer Camp – 5/27/2018 Full Show AUD

Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band are hitting the summer festival circuit this summer. A couple of days ago they headlined the Revival Music Festival and the day before that, they did a headlining set at the Summer Camp music festival.

Phil and the Terrapin Family Band were joined by some extra friends at their Summer Camp fest. For the fourth song of the first set, Anders Beck from Greensky Bluegrass joined them for “Cassidy.” A couple of songs later, Al Schnier, guitarist from moe. joined for “Jack Straw > Like a Rolling Stone” and then came back in the second set for “Shakedown Street.”

The final set of guests of the set, was J.J. Grey and Mofro for the “In the Midnight Hour” encore.
