Gov’t Mule took the stage in Houston, TX just hours after learning of Tom Petty being found unresponsive. Warren and the boys don’t take fellow musicians passing lightly and were all but guaranteed to do something to honor Petty at the show.
Their tribute came deep into the first set with a solemn cover of Petty’s classic tune “Breakdown.” It’s the fifth track in the playlist above.
In addition to the Petty tribute, the Mule welcomed familiar guests Rey Arteaga & Gordie Johnson for sit-ins in both sets including “32/20 Blues,” “Smokestack Lightning,” “Spanish Moon” and more.
Space City Shows 2 was in the front row for all the action and captured incredible footage of the entire show!
