Watch Animal Join Goose for “Animal” at Newport Folk Festival

Goose continued their summer travels with a set at the Newport Folk Festival. Goose landed at Newport on Saturday in the middle of the festival.

At the end of their set, Peter revealed that they were fulfilling a fan request. Shortly there after a sign blocking the drum set was dropped and revealed Animal from the Muppets on the drums. Goose plus Animal broke into the most appropriate tune in Goose’s library—”Animal.”

Watch Phish Go the Distance on “Tweezer” in Alparetta

Phish finished their summer tour run in Alpharetta this past weekend. On night two, Phish wen the distance with their second set “Tweezer.”

The band showed off their range, from funky beats to striking solos, even hinting at “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” The way they flowed from “Tweezer” into “Golden Age,” then back to “Tweezer” was brilliantly unexpected.

Watch Phish’s Monster “Mercury > Free” in Alabama

The Phish show on 07/12/2023 at the Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, AL had many high points, but “Mercury > Free” stole the show. This combo was like a journey, showing off the band’s knack for blending different musical moods.

“Mercury” kicked off the adventure, growing into a wild jam. Around 10 minutes in, the band threw in some fun “Pet Cat” teases, adding a cool vibe. Trey’s skillful strumming was a big highlight, adding his own touch to the performance.

Then came “Free.” The band moved into this song so smoothly it felt like magic. While it didn’t have the deep sound some fans might want, the band was clearly in sync, showing just how well they can play together.

A sneaky tease of James Brown’s “Super Bad” in “Free” was a fun surprise. The “Mercury > Free” jam really showed off what Phish does best – going on musical adventures that are always fresh, unexpected, and engaging. This combo was a standout moment, proving Phish’s creativity never stops.

Watch Dave Matthews and Dead and Co Jam on “All Along the Watchtower” in Boulder

Dead and Co’s final tour rolled into Colorado for their annual shows at Folsom Field in Boulder.

Dead and Co have rarely welcomed guests to their line-up. On July 3rd, they were joined by Dave Matthews for a few tunes including a cover of Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower.” What was so unique about this was not just that Dave sat in with Dead and Co, but that Dead and Co took the lead from Matthews and covered the tune in his style.

Watch Dead and Company Jam on Last “Althea” at Citi Field

Dead and Company is well into their final tour. While Billy kreutzmann has opted to sit this tour out, Jay Lane is holding it down on the drums.

In Dead and Co’s final two dates at Citi Field in NYC, Mayer and Weir treated NY deadheads to one final “Althea”—the tune that hooked Mayer on the Dead and one of his finest tunes.
