The popular series Jam in the Van, that features different jam bands act in, well a van, is back with a new episode featuring Circles Around the Sun.
CATS, supporting their third album, shared a tune from it titled “Language” featuring Mikaela Davis on the harp. For this particular performance, Jam in the Van was visiting the Whale Rock Festival and took over the Bethel Rd. Distillery.
Goose has proven themselves as one of the most formidable jam bands on the scene today. In addition to epic jams, fantastic songs, and incredibly talented musicians, Goose also boasts an acoustic line-up.
Goose’s acoustic side project, Orebolo was born during the pandemic, when Rick Mitarotonda (guitar), Peter Anspach (guitar, keyboards) and Jeff Arevalo (percussion) were all stuck under one roof. The acoustic trio has snuck in a handful of gigs this summer including one in Westport, CT at the Levitt Pavilio.
During the two sets, Orebolo snuck in a couple of covers including their debut of the Grateful Dead classic “New Speedway Boogie.”
My Morning Jacket is out on the road this summer and made their debut at New Haven’s Westville Music Bowl. The following evening, MMJ headed down to Asbury Park, NJ to headline the Sea Hear Now festival.
Sandwiched into the middle of their massive set, MMJ treated New Haven to a rocking “Lay Low”—one of my favorite MMJ tunes.
