The Wheels of Soul tour stopped at Artpark in Lewiston, NY a couple of nights ago. Drive-By Truckers, the Marcus King Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band all played sets and as with all the other nights of the tour, King and Hood sat in with TTB on the final set.
Marcus King was the first sit-in for one of the highlights of the TTB set. King and Tedeschi Trucks Band teamed up on the blues standard courtesy of Elmore James, “The Sky is Crying.” King and Trucks on guitar are a perfect companion to Susan Tedeschi’s sultry vocals.
Patterson Hood from Drive-By Truckers sat in on the second encore, “Let Me Roll.”
