For night two of Phil and Friends’ run at the Capitol Theater, a very special friend joined the band for the first time ever – Melvin Seals. Melvin was a long-time Jerry Garcia Band member and since Jerry’s death, has kept the flame alive with the JGB.

Phil and Friends play some more Warren Haynes’ favorites as they had done the night before. Night two was a lot more jam, heavy and experimental.

Was this first time collaboration a success? Phil Lesh said after the second set, “What the fuck was that?” I’ll let you be the judge.
