Newgrass all-stars, Greensky Bluegrass are on the road with a few different supporting acts. For the first leg of the tour, Circles Around the Sun are opening and then later in January they will be joined by the Chris Jacobs Band before Billy Strings relieves them.

On Saturday night, Greensky Bluegrass hit up the famed Beacon Theater on the Upper Westside of Manhattan. We saw that Charlie Starr and Benji shanks paid tribute to the Allman Brothers Band a few nights ago when in their hometown of Macon. The Beacon is the Allman Brothers Band’s second home and GSBG didn’t leave the house without a fitting tribute to ABB.

For the encore, GSBG stretched out “Midnight Rider” with a nice little jam much to the delight of NYC.

Thanks to TaperJeff for the recording .
